	Biography
	Dr Robinson has extensive experience in innovation and commercialization of new products, processes and services both as a researcher and as a senior executive in corporate, academic and research institutions. His core competencies are in materials science and engineering, manufacturing technology, strategic planning and in the assessment of technological/market opportunities. He is currently:

	•	Chair, Cast CRC Ltd
	•	Board Member, Rail Innovation Australia Pty Ltd
	•	Chair, International Technical Advisory Committee to Australian Nuclear Science and Technology [ANSTO] Board
	•	Board Member, ARC Centre of Excellence for Electromaterials Science and ARC Centre of Excellence for Light Metals
	•	Chief Assessor, Queensland Smart State Innovation Funds
	Dr Robinson has been a Director of a range of manufacturing companies, including SMEs and start-up companies, and has held a number of senior executive positions including:

	•	Chief, CSIRO Division of Manufacturing Technology

	Dr Robinson has been the recipient of numerous Australian and international awards for fostering productive interactions between the research and corporate sectors and consequential technical innovation in global markets. He was elected a Member of the Order of Australia in 1994 for contributions to industrial development through research and development in materials science and technology and the Commonwealth Centenary Medal for services to manufacturing industry and academic administration.
