| Research interests | |||||
Professor Fraser has an active research program in the development of new and improved materials, including: |
| • | Light alloys (such as Ti and Be) |
| • | Advanced intermetallic compounds |
| • | Phase stability and deformation behaviour in multilayered materials |
| • | Friction stir welding |
| • | Composite systems |
| This is based on research involving the development of advanced methods of materials characterization (involving high resolution and analytical electron microscopy), materials processing, and microstructure/property relationships. | |||||
| More recently, he has concentrated effort on establishing the Center for the Accelerated Maturation of Materials (CAMM). At present, he serves as Director of CAMM in its start-up mode, and is responsible for soliciting funds from NSF, DARPA, the State of Ohio, and industrial partners. | |||||
