Program A: Alloy Design and Processing
This program consists of a range of projects targeted at the design of microstructures through alloying, thermal and mechanical treatment for optimising the strength, formability and stability of magnesium and aluminium alloys.  Four major projects are in place and these are coordinated by researchers from various nodes of the Centre, as shown below.
Research Program A
The following links provide detailed overviews of the current status of the four projects in Program A including targets, outcomes and future direction.
Project A1: Design of Al-base structures for enhanced strength
Project A2: Design of Mg-base structures for enhanced strength
Project A3: Design of structures for enhanced ductility
Project A4: Design of structures for dynamic loading conditions
